Dr Farhan Shahid is a member of British Cardiac Society (BCS) and British Cardiovascular Interventional Society (BCIS).
Dr Shahid is a Consultant Cardiologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Dr Shahid graduated in 2008 from University of London and then did his training in London,Manchester, Cardiff and Swansea NHS hospitals. He was awarded Fellowship in complex PCI (coronary artery stenting) at the internationally renowned The Royal Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. He holds a PhD degree from the University of Birmingham focusing on Atrial Fibrillation, which was completed in 2018. Dr Shahid also holds a BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science from Kings College, University of London.
Dr Shahid is regularly involved in clinical research and academia and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals in all aspects of cardiology and is actively involved in multiple national and international clinical trials. His research interests include: atrial fibrillation and inflammation, microvascular angina, cardiac imaging in complex percutaneous intervention and myocardial infarction in the absence of coronary artery disease.Dr Shahid is affiliated with University of Birmingham, teaching undergraduate students.
